My story begins clear back in March 2006, 28 months before my birthday! Mom and dad always knew they wanted to hear the pitter patter of little feet, but the process was a little harder than expected, so mom spent a lot of time with her doctor, Dr. Szabo. Mom and dad had sort of given up on a baby coming, and then POOF! all of a sudden there I was-- growing in mom's tummy! I made her pretty sick for awhile, but then not so much anymore. Everything ran pretty smoothly, from about week 14 until I arrived!

I had three ultrasounds and all turned out really great (you can see pictures of the second one in the photos albums area)! There's just one small detail that, unfortunately, wasn't clear until the very last one that happened right before I was born... whether I was a boy or girl! The tech said that she was pretty sure that I was a girl, the doctor called me a girl, and dad was sure that I was a girl too. At the last ultrasound though, the tech said that she was sure I was a girl! Guess all that pink that everyone bough for me won't got to waste!!

The day that I arrived, mom woke up very early...around 4:30 a.m. She knew that something felt different, and sure enough, her water had broken. So she and dad called the doctor, grabbed some very quick breakfast, and off to the hospital they went! Mom was feeling great, and she and dad were super excited to welcome me into the world!

After getting to the hospital and getting settled into our labor and delivery room (room #3), mommy and daddy talked to Dr. Szabo, who said that everything looked really good and that they would indeed be welcoming me into the world. The hospital staff was absolutely wonderful, mom and dad especially liked their labor nurse whose name was also Jackie! Mommy and daddy watched TV for awhile (the food network) and just waited around for things to start rolling. All the doctors and nurses told them to be ready to "wait it out" as 1st babies like me tend to take a long time to come into the world. However, I had other plans!

Just a short 11 hours and 47 minutes (not that Mom was counting or anything) after mom's water broke, I arrived into the world! Mom and dad tell me that I came out pink and pretty and even though the nurses tried their best, I wasn't into the whole screaming thing, I preferred to make little noises. Daddy carried my down to the nursery where they took care of me, cleaned me up and gave me my own special bracelets to wear while we were in the hospital. Then, the nurses took me back to mommy who was resting in the recovery room. She cried when Nurse Jackie handed me to her, but she tells me that they were happy tears! She was just glad I had arrived and was A-OK!!

Mommy and Daddy tell me that I am the prettiest little girl in the world, and they talk to me and read to me and sing to me and kiss me like crazy! I already have some nicknames... Mama calls me her little Pea Pod because I like to be wrapped up nice and tight in my swaddly blankets. Daddy calls me his BooBoo Bear. I like both names, and have already actually started to smile when I hear them!
